Daily runs competition for budding football journalists

A regional daily is teaming up with a premier league football club to offer budding young journalists the chance to experience a matchday from the press room.

The Stoke-based Sentinel has joined forces with Stoke City to give one lucky young football fan the experience of being a reporter when the Potters play Arsenal tomorrow.

Entrants, who must be aged 10-16, will sit in the press box at the Britannia Stadium with Sentinel reporter Martin Spinks to watch the game and then write a report of the match.

The winner will also be able to go along to the post-match press conference to see Stoke City manager Mark Hughes questioned by the world’s media about his team’s performance.

A report of the winner’s views on the game will also be published online with Martin’s match reports as well as in Monday’s print edition of The Sentinel.

The prize also includes a tour of the Britannia Stadium, as well as an extra match ticket so the winner can take their mum or dad along too.
