USA Today boss to address annual media conference

More speakers have been confirmed for this year’s Society of Editors conference to be held in Southampton.

Larry Kramer, president and publisher of USA Today, will join key media figures in debating industry issues at the November 9-11 gathering.

USA Today is part of Gannett – the owners of Newsquest – and discussion will centre on how the paper is being repositioned in the US market and online.

Other confirmed speakers include Joanna Geary, head of UK news partnerships at Twitter, BBC regions controller David Holdsworth and Ian Murray, editor-in-chief of the Southern Daily Echo.

Based at the Grand Harbour Hotel the main conference sessions will run from Monday 10 November and throughout the morning of Tuesday 11 November.

Sir Alan Moses, the chairman of the new Independent Press Standards Organisation will deliver the Society of Editors Lecture on the evening of Sunday 9 November.
