Regional paper in date with digital stars

The final countdown has begun in the latest search for a regional newspaper’s new crop of national business winners.

Entrants for this year’s Scottish Digital Business Awards – sponsored by the Herald – have until Thursday 4 September to show their interest in the contest.

The industry ‘gongs’ – now in their sixth year -recognise the success of large and small firms in seizing the opportunities offered by digital technology and the internet.

All types of digital activity are eligible for entry from a simple-but-effective social media campaign through websites to games, mobile technology, business software and public installations. The only prerequisite for entry is demonstrating success through invention, finance or popularity.

Previous winners have enjoyed international success, showing Scotland to be a world leader in pushing the boundaries of technology.

“As the digital industry changes and evolves our award categories are evaluated and reviewed to ensure they are relevant and in line with industry developments,” said  Herald & Times Group digital innovation manager Grant Gibson.
