Regional daily names new features desk team

A regional daily has appointed a new features editor and deputy following internal promotions within its team.

Tim Hughes, previously feature writer and music editor for the Oxford Times and Oxford Mail, becomes features editor for both titles.

He will be assisted by Katherine MacAlister, who takes on the role of deputy features editor in addition to those of food editor and entertainment writer.

Other recent job moves in the regional press include the following:

  • Ruth Mosalksi has left her role as court reporter of the South Wales Evening Post to join Media Wales as a senior multimedia journalist.
  • Senior news reporter Emma Walker has left the Dorset Echo after two years to join the Shropshire Star.
  • Susan Thompson has joined the Irish News as digital editor.
  • Mark Leslie has been appointed acting editor of Lynn News and Downham News following the departure of Nick Woodhead.
  • The Belfast Telegraph has appointed Rebecca Black as education correspondent, replacing Lindsay Fergus
  • James Robinson has joined the Andover Advertiser as a reporter.
