‘Proud Merseysider’ takes charge of hometown titles

Carl Wood PicThe new boss of Trinity Mirror’s titles in Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales has spoken of his pride at his new appointment.

As reported by HTFP last month, Carl Wood is among seven newly-appointed regional managing directors at the newspaper publisher following a management restructure.

Carl, described as a “proud Merseysider” will have overall responsibility for the Liverpool Echo and North Wales Daily Post along with a number of weeklies.

The 47-year-old was formerly commercial director for Trinity Mirror North West and North Wales and began his media career in 1991 at the Liverpool Weekly Newspaper Group.

Said carl: “I am extremely proud and privileged to work with some of the most talented, professional and creative people in the multi media and digital industry.

“I am absolutely delighted to have this opportunity to further build on market-leading and award-winning brands.

“I am confident given the wealth of talent within the business and the passion, creativity and determination my colleagues and I have for it, that together we can create even greater value for our growing readership both in print and on-line.
