Jobs created as online money channel launched

Trinity Mirror is to create four new jobs with the launch of a new online channel designed to help people save money.

The new money-saving section will initially launch on mirror.co.uk and on manchestereveningnews.co.uk before being extended more widely across the group’s regional brands.

It will be designed to mix everyday financial advice with “shareable” explainers akin to the content on the group’s successful UsVsTh3mand Ampp3d portals.

An advertisement for the role of editor of the site is now being carried on HoldtheFrontPage.

The advert says:  “We’re not looking to create a personal finance section – but something that mixes interesting, everyday advice with shareable explainers and useful tools.

“You’ll be financially literate, and have experience of commissioning and creating practical, engaging content that people want to share, using a mix of approaches (text, graphics, video, interactives).”

As well as the editor role, the company is seeking to recruit two full-time journalists and one part-time reporter to work on the project.

The editor will report into Malcolm Coles, who helped launch both UsVsTh3m and Ampp3d.

Trinity Mirror has so far not responded to requests to comment further on the plan.

Good luck taking on Martin Lewis et al. Sure the trusted Trinity Mirror brand will set it on the way though.
