Council newspapers are often derided but one local authority publication almost invited parody with this picture-headline juxtaposition blunder.

The latest edition of Aberdeen City Council’s magazine Newsbite became a hit on Twitter after the partial obscuring of the letter ‘b’ rendered it something rather more earthy.

A council spokesperson told the Press and Journal: “An unfortunate oversight in the production process for the front cover of the latest edition of Newsbite has focused a lot of unwelcome attention on this excellent publication.

“The newsletter is full of useful information for city council tenants and we are delighted that so many people are now aware of it.”
