Cricketing success inspires souvenir magazine

A regional daily’s celebration of national triumph on the cricket field has gone on sale.

The Leeds-based Yorkshire Post has created a glossy 64 page souvenir magazine dedicated to Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s successful season in the sport’s County Championship this summer.

The A4 booklet charts the White Rose County’s victorious campaign and is now on sale across Yorkshire.

The magazine features new interviews with members of the title-winning squad including former England bowler Ryan Sidebottom, as well as club captain Andrew Gale, and players Jack Brooks, Adam Lyth and Alex Lees.

The Post’s cricket correspondent Chris Waters, who attended every match of the season, also snared interviews with off-the-field staff inclufing coaches Jason Gillespie and Martyn Moxon, and club president Dickie Bird for the booklet.

The magazine also carries every County Championship scorecard from the campaign and includes a page of statistics looking back on some of the team’s best performances.

This year’s triumph was the county’s first win in the competition since 2001.

    Fantastic by the YP.
    It’s a great reward for sending Muddy to every game. That’s great investment in content by a paper which realises just how important cricket is to its readers.
