Newspaper building sold in multi-million pound deal

Ownership of the headquarters of one of the UK’s leading regional newspaper titles has changed hands.

Kames Capital’s Property Income Fund has bought 200 Renfield Street Glasgow – home of The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times – from Cording Danmerc Limited in a £13.7m deal.

The property generates an annual income of £1.17m and will continue to be leased to Newsquest which publishes the three titles until 2030, with a tenant break option in 2020.

The modern building sits on a 1.6 acre site with more than 80 car parking spaces.
