Solicitor Nicki Schroeder is leaving her role at the Newspaper Society to join the in-house legal team at ITV.

Niki, who works in the Political, Editorial and Regulatory Affairs unit at the NS, joined the regional publishers’ body nine months ago.

She said: “I have enjoyed every minute of my time at the Newspaper Society, and working with all its members, and I will be very sorry to leave my colleagues and friends there.

“But the new role at ITV is a new challenge, and I am very much looking forward to it.”

Santha Rasaiah, head of Pera at the NS, said in a message to members: “Whilst we are sorry that Nicki is leaving, we are pleased that she will be remaining within the media world.

“I am very grateful for her contribution to Pera, especially her work on helping the industry prepare for the launch of the Independent Press Standards Organisation.”
