Northern dailies unveil new-look websites

Two regional dailies are the latest to unveil new-look websites under the roll-out across Trinity Mirror.

The Liverpool Echo and Teesside Evening Gazette have relaunched their websites, putting greater emphasis on new and updated stories and aim to be easier to navigate.

The titles have also introduced regular email newsletters with the top stories, which are twice-daily at the Echo and daily at the Gazette, and both have improved their mobile sites.

Other Trinity Mirror titles to unveil revamped websites include WalesOnline, the Manchester Evening News, Birmingham Mail and the Coventry Telegraph.

The redesigns include full-screen picture galleries, sections of the sites for each local community and a new what’s on listing service.

A story about the new look at the Echo said: “We wanted to make the Liverpool Echo more tailored to you and your needs. We also wanted to make it more accessible from your mobile. At the same time we wanted to create a website that’s more enjoyable, informative and up to date.”
