London and South of England awards open for entries

Entries are now open for the EDF Energy London and South of England Media Awards 2013, held in association with Hold the Front Page.

Now in their ninth year, these free-to-enter awards honour the best in journalism across the London and the South of England – an area comprising Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Kent, East and West Sussex, Surrey and the wider London area, as bounded by the M25.

There are 20 categories to choose from, covering daily and weekly newspapers, designers and broadcasters, and any material published between July 5 2012 and July 5 2013 is eligible.

All of those shortlisted will be invited along with their guests to a celebration presentation event, courtesy of EDF Energy, while individual award winners will receive a £100 cheque, certificate and trophy.

The deadline for entries is 5pm, Friday 16 August 2013.

Radio Journalist of the Year
Television Journalist of the Year
Newcomer of the Year
Feature Writer of the Year
Designer of the Year
News Photographer of the Year

Work can be submitted for more than one category, but each must be accompanied by a separate entry form and samples of the work, and approved by their editor.
