High five for Herald at Scottish Press Awards

Journalists at the Herald and Sunday Herald in Scotland were the big winners at the 34th annual Scottish Press Awards, walking away with five top gongs between them.

The team bagged awards in the categories of Cartoonist of the Year, Arts and Entertainment Journalist of the Year, Magazine Writer of the Year, Financial and Business Writer of the Year, and Reporter of the Year, which went to David Pratt.

The Newsquest-owned papers pipped rivals The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday which won four categories.

The Sunday Post was awarded the prestigious Newspaper of the Year prize at the ceremony, which was held at the Radisson BLU in Glasgow last night.

Gina Davidson of the Edinburgh Evening News was named Journalist of the Year, while Campbell Gunn of the Sunday Post was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Scottish Sun walked away with three wins and three runner-up positions.
