Friends step up search for missing weekly reporter

Friends of a missing weekly newspaper reporter have distributed posters in the hope of finding him.

Clive Dennier, left, from the Strathspey & Badenoch Herald, was reported missing when he failed to go into work on Monday morning and police have launched a search for him.

It is thought the 50-year-old may have gone missing while walking in the Scottish Highlands at the weekend but searches of car parks have so far failed to find his silver Volkswagen Polo.

Friends of the journalist have created a missing person poster which is being distributed in and around Inverness, where he lived, and in places used by walkers such as cafes, hotels and hostels.

Highlands courier delivery service AJG Parcels has also alerted its drivers to look out for Clive’s vehicle, which has the registration SX54 CXD, and the Mountaineering Council of Scotland has also got involved by asking its members to look out for him.

Police have said they are “increasingly concerned for the safety and wellbeing” of Clive, who had spoken about going hill walking at the weekend before his disappearance.

The journalist had been with the Strathspey & Badenoch Herald for around two years and is a former news editor for the Highland edition of The Press and Journal.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northern Constabulary.
