Editor and reporter feature on The Apprentice

A weekly newspaper editor and reporter appeared on BBC1 programme The Apprentice this week about their coverage of a local contestant.

Matt Adams, editor of the Herts Advertiser, and reporter Samantha Lewis featured in Monday’s programme The Final Five following their extensive coverage of Luisa Zissman.

The programme shone the spotlight on the final five contestants in the show and cameras went to Luisa’s hometown of St Albans to learn about her life away from the popular series.

Those who expressed their support for Luisa included the Archant-owned Advertiser and her employees from Dixie’s Cupcakery.

Samantha is pictured in the TV programme.

Matt said: “We were delighted to be asked to take part in the filming as Luisa is a good friend of the newspaper and from an early stage we’ve said we are backing her all the way.”

On the programme, Samantha said:  “Writing about Luisa has become my baby and I am doing it every week, watching the show, then getting stories up straight away afterward it has finished.

“She is doing so well that we are really loving watching her.”

Lord Sugar’s trusted aides Nick Hewer and Karren Brady also discussed Luisa’s strengths and weaknesses on the show, ahead of next week’s final.
