The deadline for the EDF Energy London and South of England Media Awards 2013, held in association with HoldtheFrontPage, has been extended for a week until 5pm Friday August 23.

Reporters, photographers, designers, radio and television staff are all invited to enter the awards, designed to honour the best in journalism across the London and the South of England.

The free-to-enter awards cover all media outlets in an area comprising Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Kent, East and West Sussex, Surrey and the wider London area as bounded by the M25.

There are 20 categories covering daily and weekly newspapers, designers and broadcasters.  Individual award winners receive a £100 cheque, certificate and trophy, and all those shortlisted, along with their guests, will be invited to a celebration presentation event, courtesy of EDF Energy.

Only material published between July 5 2012 and July 5 2013 will be eligible.
