Two male newspaper reporters donned dresses and wigs to take part in a 10k run for charity.
Islington Gazette reporter Jon Dean and Hornsey Journal journalist Tim Lamden took part in the Great Drag Race at Highbury Fields in Islington on Saturday.
They joined around 200 men dressed in frocks and fishnets for the event, which is being held to raise funds for Prostate Action – with the pair raising £175 so far.
Jon completed the race in 49 minutes with Tim crossing the finishing line on 52 minutes.
Said Jon: “I was a bit nervous after agreeing to do it, especially knowing pictures of me in drag would be splashed all over the our paper.
“Luckily my girlfriend works in fashion so I think I ended up looking pretty fabulous. It was a great day out in the sun as well. I was pretty pleased with my time. I might try running in a dress more often.”
Tim added: “I was somewhat flustered going into the race as I was unable to get my hands on a hairpiece until about an hour before the start. As all my fellow ladies know, there’s nothing worse than a bad hair day.
“Thankfully, the organisers came through with a lovely blonde number at the last minute and I think they’ll agree I wore it with style!”

Thank goodness – I wondered what had happened to Posh Spice and Britney Spears.
