A former weekly newspaper editor has returned to his old paper to resume a column he wrote while at the helm of the title.
Bill Heaney will return to the Lennox Herald to write the Notebook column which he wrote when he was editor, a position he held for nearly 30 years.
He left the paper in 1999 to become a special advisor to the then Scottish First Minister Henry McLeish, where he worked to promote devolution across Scotland.
Bill started out in journalism as a copy boy with the Scottish Daily Express in Glasgow, where he later became a staff reporter.
He left the Express to lead the Lennox Herald, where he also took on the editorship of the Clyde Weekly News.
