Stoke Sentinel boss to leave Northcliffe

The boss of Northcliffe’s Staffordshire division Tim Saunders is to leave the business later this month, the company has announced.

Tim has spent 24 years with Northcliffe and is currently managing director of Staffordshire News and Media, publisher of the Sentinel, and Central Independent Newspapers, which includes the Tamworth Herald.

Rich Mead, Northcliffe Media executive director said: “I’d like to thank Tim for his hard work, dedication and commitment during his 24 years with the business.

“Tim has held roles in Nottingham and Plymouth before being appointed managing director in the West Midlands five years ago. He leaves with all our support and best wishes.”

Tim’s last day in the office will be 22 June.

Margaret Hilton, Northcliffe Media commercial advisor and a former senior executive at Johnston Press, has been appointed acting managing director until an announcement is made regarding a successor.

    Well – that took longer than expected!!

    I thought that the MD positions had been made REDUNDANT to be replaced by a publisher.
