The shortlist for the regional newspaper journalists nominated for the British Sports Journalism Awards has been announced.

Nominated in the Regional Sports Writer category are Jon Colman from Cumbrian Newspapers, Paul Ferguson from Belfast’s Sunday Life, Amanda Little from Cumbrian Newspapers, Mark Taylor from the Cambridge News, Chris Wathan from Media Wales and freelancer Richard Wilson.

Organised by the Sports Journalists’ Association, results of the awards will be announced at a gala dinner at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden on 12 March.

Chairman of the Judges Jon Ryan said he was delighted that the number of entries remained high  during what has not been the easiest time for newspapers.
