Photographs taken by local newspapers are being featured in a Royal Collection exhibition to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.
The Queen: 60 Photographs for 60 Years is being exhibited at Windsor Castle, and features photographs contributed by regional and national press, and photographic agencies.
Newspapers that had their images chosen include the Oldham Chronicle, Derby Telegraph, Belfast Telegraph, Hull Daily Mail, Wallingford Herald, Press and Journal, and the Hexham Courant.
The regional press photographs span all six decades of the Queen’s reign with the oldest being the Chronicle’s image of Her Majesty preparing to inspect the Guard of Honour outside Oldham Town Hall in 1954. The exhibition is open until 28 October.
