Press Association appoints technology officer to board

National news agency the Press Association has appointed a chief technology officer to its main board for the first time in history.

PA says the appointment of Andrew Dowsett underlines its commitment to driving technology-led innovation and new product development.

Andrew has held a number of senior positions in leading media and content businesses including EMAP, EMI, Virgin Media Group and Bauer Consumer Media, where he was operations and technology director.

Chief executive Clive Marshall said: “Andrew’s appointment to the PA Group Board of Directors underlines the importance PA places on developing innovative technology across the business, as we explore new ways of capitalising on the great wealth of data and content we gather, process and present.”
