Newspaper’s exhibition boosted sales

An exhibition by a regional newspaper to celebrate 80 years since its launch has boosted sales with one vendor selling 800 copies in five days.

The Bristol Post, formerly the Bristol Evening Post, launched the exhibition in the city centre on 18 April. On display are newspapers from over the past eight decades including coverage of the Blitz on Bristol, the St Paul’s riots, and the triumphant return of the SS Great Britain to her home port.

The exhibition has attracted so much interest so that a competing out-of-town shopping centre has expressed an interest in running it there.

The exhibition runs in the Galleries Shopping Centre until 17 May.
