Trinity Mirror has announced a new editorial structure for its Scottish division, Media Scotland.

Murray Foote, currently deputy editor of the Daily Record, becomes group editor, while Stephen Martin, currently Scotland editor of the Sunday Mirror, is made group content editor.

The pair will oversee editorial operations at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, while the 20-plus local titles in the newly-merged division will be overseen by group editor Alan Woodison.

Media Scotland was created by the merger of the Record, Sunday Mail, and local publisher Scottish and Universal Newspapers.   It has resulted in the closure of five local newspaper offices and the departure of a number of senior editorial executives.
