Hyperlocal news site relaunches after receiving grant

A hyperlocal news site has relaunched with a new responsive mobile site after receiving a funding grant.

Daily online magazine Kentishtowner was one of ten hyperlocal projects to be awarded funding of up to £50,000 from innovation foundation Nesta to develop mobile phone platforms.

The site has now launched a new responsive site which automatically adapts to the size of the phone, iPad or other device, along with a new masthead.

It has also created Young Kentishtowner, a social enterprise which aims to empower young people by providing mentoring in digital journalism and publishing.

The site now has new Nearby button, allowing a visitor to the site to see reviews and features about local businesses on a map based on their location.
