Weekly title in the pink for charity

A weekly newspaper has changed the colour of its masthead to pink for one week in support of a cancer charity.

Johnston Press weekly title the Dewsbury Reporter is supporting the town in going pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Week which began on Monday.

Shops, cafes and business are also taking part in the campaign which has been organised by Soroptimist International.

Editor Hannah Ridgeway said: “Breast cancer affects families in all our communities. Any research which will help improve survival rates will have a profound effect.

“The Reporter is proud to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and hopes to raise a lot of money for Breast Cancer Campaign through newspaper sales this week.”

The paper will also donate 1p from the cover price of every copy sold to Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity funding research into the disease.
