NCTJ holds shorthand workshops to boost skills

The National Council for the Training of Journalists will run shorthand workshops to help people improve their skills ahead of taking exams.

Its workshops will provide help with taking down selective notes, reporting quotes accurately and improving listening and selection skills, all of which are needed when taking the National Certificate Examination.

The sessions will be held in London on 9 June and 20 October from 9.30am-4.30pm and to book a place, visit nctj.com.

Earlier this week, NCTJ chairman Kim Fletcher said shorthand was ‘as important as ever’ when appearing in a BBC Radio 4 programme about it, which can be heard on the BBC iPlayer.
