A free local newspaper containing a report on Amy Winehouse’s inquest has been auctioned off on eBay for £2.35.
The edition of the Camden New Journal, published last month, contained a front page picture of the tragic singer under the headline ‘Amy’s Last Hours’ and an inside double page spread on the inquest on her death which was held at St Pancras Coroners Court.
The independently owned weekly newspaper was put up for sale on the auction website as a commemorative item for fans of the Camden singer who died after drinking dangerous amounts of alcohol.
The seller advertised the Journal as being one of only two newspapers that were allowed in the courtroom and said the title had “consistently reported with compassion, no hint of tabloid exploitation and respect.”
They added that the paper would make a ‘final piece for the dedicated fan’ of the star, whose death was ruled by deputy coroner Suzanne Greenaway to be a result of misadventure.
The auction attracted three bids with the paper selling for £2.35.
The singer was found dead in her home in Camden Town in July after apparently telling her doctor the night before that she did not want to die.
Am I missing something?
Someone sells a newspaper on eBay for the price of a sandwich.
That’s it? Seriously?

Wow!
That IS a lot of money.
Just goes to show the economy isn’t as bad as we thought.
£2.35, eh?
Sheesh.
It truly is a different world for the rich etc etc (that’s enough hilarious cutting-edge satire, Ed)

This is a major story to be fair: person buys newspaper.
You don’t get a lot of that these days.
