Student newspaper thrives ten years on

A student newspaper in Scotland is thriving ten years after it was launched.

The 116-page Scotcampus is Scotland’s biggest and oldest independent student publication and is available six times a year at all major universities and colleges throughout Scotland.

Launched in 2001 it claims through its website to have ‘brought the students of Scotland an unbeatable mix of lifestyle features, big name interviews plus a whole host of quirky, entertaining and relevant articles.’

Editor Chris Hammond said: “Since I started out in journalism I’ve written for a number of publications which no longer exist, so to last and actually thrive in such a tough market for a decade is something we’re all pretty proud of.

“Our last edition has, in terms of revenue, been our best ever so, fingers crossed, it’s a kick-start to another good decade for the magazine.”
