Midlands daily latest to smash jobs target

The Worcester News has become the latest newspaper to run a successful scheme which has seen 100 apprenticeships taken on by local companies in 100 days.

Having smashed the initial target well before the 100-day deadine, the paper revised it to aim at getting 100 companies to take on apprentices.

The Newsquest-owned title met the target this week securing a total of 206 apprenticeships from 100 Worcestershire companies.

The campaign was run with the National Apprenticeship Service and was also supported by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Worcestershire County Council and Skills for Security. It produced apprenticeships in construction, hospitality, recruitment and childcare.
