Reporter quits regional daily to run magazine

A regional press business editor is leaving his job to take the helm of a bi-monthly business magazine.

Nick Hyde, the senior business reporter for the Blackpool Gazette, is set to become the new editor of Lancashire Business View.

Nick, who has been with the Gazette for the past nine years, will take over from Ben Briggs, who is moving back to his former title, the Farmer’s Guardian, as news editor.

Owned by Northpoint Publishing, Lancashire Business View is mailed direct to 8,000 business leaders and decision-makers in the county and is also available on subscription.

Said Nick: “I am a huge fan of Lancashire Business View and this is an exciting opportunity for me. I have enjoyed my time reporting business on the Fylde. This new role gives me the opportunity to continue that work on a grander scale.

“I truly believe that there are many fantastic things happening in the county, despite what certain sections of the media would like us to believe, and presenting this to an interested and dedicated audience is something that I am very much looking forward to.”

Richard Slater, publisher of the magazine, said: “Nick is a talented journalist and we are delighted to have him as editor.

“He has a thorough knowledge of business in the county and is passionate about the same issues that motivates us as a publication.”
