Paramedics and ambulance staff in America are to be given smartphones to speed up medical diagnosis.

The phones are fitted with imaging software which enables staff to take pictures of internal organs and transmit them to hospital doctors.

While “rural locations” in America are usually much more remote than those in the UK, there are still paramedics here who have to drive long distances to get to hospitals and A&Es.
