Shortlist for Yorkshire Press Awards revealed

The shortlist for the 12th annual Yorkshire Press Awards has been revealed.

Once again the Hull Daily Mail has a strong showing which includes a nomination for daily newspaper of the year which it has won five times in the past six years.

It will be up against the Halifax Evening Courier, Yorkshire Post, Sheffield daily The Star and the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Dewsbury Reporter, Harrogate Advertiser, The Press, Dewsbury, Wakefield Express, Pontefract and Castleford Express and Craven Herald are doing battle for weekly newspaper of the year.

Leeds dailies the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post can boast four of the six nominees in the daily news reporter category.

This year’s awards ceremony takes place in Wakefield on 12 November.
