Newspaper's supplement lists Top 100 from its patch

A Scottish weekly has launched a new supplement in a bid to spark a debate over the most influential all-time figure on its patch.

The Fife Free Press’s 28-page FP100 supplement, pictured left, profiles what it calls “the 100 most influential Fifers of all time.”

The list includes three kings, the current Prime Minister, a Nobel prizewinner, a string of world-class sportsmen and musicians … and even a Time Lord!

It is the first time anyone has attempted to collate the greatest ever Fifers, and the supplement has been rolled out across the five paid-for titles – the Fife Free Press, East Fife Mail, Fife Herald, St Andrews Citizen and Glenrothes Gazette.

The FP100 was collated by journalists across the Fife Free Press Group and the debates over who should be in – and who shouldn’t make the cut from over 170 names – sparked huge debates around the offices.

Readers have also been invited to vote for their No. 1 choice in a special text vote. The supplement can be seen online at www.fifetoday.co.uk.
