Newspaper's car park sealed off in murder probe

Journalists on a West Wales newspaper are getting a bird’s eye view of a murder investigation after its car park was sealed off by police.

Officers from Dyfed Powys Police are investigating the discovery off a girl’s body in a Ford Fiesta on the A487 near Aberaeron on Sunday.

But police have told Cardigan-based weekly the Tivy-Side Advertiser that its car park has become a crucial part of the investigation and therefore it had to be sealed off this morning.

Although the victim’s identity is yet to be formally identified, police believe it is 17-year-old local girl Chanelle Sasha Jones and a man has been arrested as part of the investigation.

Advertiser editor Sue Lewis told HTFP: “Crime figures for the Dyfed Powys area are some of the lowest in the UK.

“We never have murders so to have it on your doorstep is really tragic.”
