Imperial newspaper could be top student title again

Imperial College London’s Felix newspaper is in the running to be crowned the country’s best student title for a second consecutive year.

Felix is shortlisted alongside four other newspapers from universities in Leeds, York, Cardiff and Sheffield in the 31st annual Guardian Student Media Awards.

Elsewhere among the nominations, the University of York has been shortlisted nine times while the University of Edinburgh features three times in the diversity writer of the year category.

Prizes include cash and work experience placements with the Guardian, Sky News and the NME.

This year’s judging panel included Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger, former Newsnight editor Peter Barron and BBC radio presenter Colin Murray.

The awards will be handed out at the Proud Galleries, in Camden, on 25 November.
