Friday Funnies: Baring all on local radio

It’s been a few weeks since we last brought you some Friday Funnies so it’s our pleasure to return with another batch. The skies have been horribly grey of late but at least silly season is drawing to a close.

During the summer Associated Northcliffe Digital launched a string of ‘Local People’ community news sites, featuring news from citizen journalists. But we’re not sure that the good readers of BidefordPeople.co.uk would appreciate this invitation:

A local newspaper should strive to be at the heart of healthy debate on the important local issues, with the internet providing a wonderful tool at its disposal. So over first to the Bristol Evening Post and the bowl vs sink conundrum…..

This entry from the national press has been circulating the web for a few days with one media blogger branding it ‘Accidental headline of the year’.

According to reports, subs on the Daily Express were fiddling with the headline above a feature which was spread over two pages. It appears that between the different editions, the words ‘at last’ and ‘finally’ were conjoined into something far less appropriate for your average Express reader:


Finishing off this batch of Funnies is the news that children in Scotland will soon be mixing with master swordsmen and John Waynes, facing off against their enemies as kids make their way to assembly (from Clydebank Post):
