Will you join the Journalist Network?

An appeal has gone out for journalists willing to help non-profit making organisations in need of help with media relations.

Last month Community Service Volunteers (CSV) launched the Journalist Network, which aims to put experienced print and broadcast journalists, producers and editors in touch with voluntary organisations and charities.

Now the CSV is hoping to build on the small army of volunteers it currently has around the country by attracting more journalists willing to share their time and expertise.

Sue Farrington, of the CSV, said: “CSV Journalist Network already has outstanding volunteers all over the country who offer advice and practical hands-on media help to smaller charities who are not normally able to afford a dedicated member of staff for these roles – but we need more.

“When you see the impact these journalists make – attracting new volunteers, generating funds and publicising special events – you understand how essential media work is.

“Voluntary organisations are crying out for help with raising their profile – CSV Journalist Network is here to help them do just that.”

Anyone with media skills, including writing, designing and marketing, who would like to become a volunteer, should contact Matthew Thomas on 020 7643 1371 or email [email protected].
