Leicester goes live with Motorsport site

The Leicester Mercury has extended its family of niche Internet sites with www.thisismotorsport.com, which launched yesterday.

Project-led by Internet sports editor Simon Orrell, the site is hoping to build on the concentration on motorsport venues in the East Midlands.

All levels of the sport are covered, from Formula 3000 and Touring Cars right up to Formula One.

The three East Midlands circuits – Donington Park, Mallory Park and Silverstone – get the most coverage, but there’s also extensive national and international news coverage, details of fixtures and riders, and links to a host of other motorsport sites.

All of the Leicester-generated sites are available at www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk.
