Railtrack and GNER bosses have been online to answer questions about the Selby rail crash.

The question-and-answer session took place live on the York EveningPress website at thisisyork.co.uk.

Robin Gisby, Railtrack’s London North Eastern zone director, who appeared on the website in January, was impressed with the response last time and was keen to speak to visitors again.

He said: “I found it an extremely valuable experience last time and believe it is even more pertinent now, following last week’s events.

“York is unique in the railway community and we would be happy to answer any questions readers want to pose.”

Jonathan Metcalfe, GNER customer operations director, will be answeringquestions on behalf of the York-based train operator.

“It is an opportunity for readers to find out how GNER responded to thisawful accident,” he said.

“And it is a chance to find out what is being done about rail safety and restoring passenger confidence.”
