T&A scores new hit

A glossy booklet called ‘Leagues of their Own’ aimed at amateur soccer clubs has ‘scored’ for Bradford’s Telegraph & Argus.

Described as an ‘A-Z of Bradford & District Amateur Football’, each club had a page containing a picture and team information in the 180-page publication.

On the back of the booklet, the T&A’s award-winning digital media team built each of the clubs a CommuniGate website. Communigate allows non-profit making organisationsto have their own free online meeting place for communicating with theirmembers.

The massive task – about 80 of the top amateur clubs received their own website as a result – paid off with CommuniGate turned, at a stroke, into the number one online resource for local soccer.

David Behrens, Digital Content Editor at Newsquest (Bradford), which publishes the T&A, said:

“A League of Their Own gave us the perfect opportunity to get Bradford’s amateur soccer community online.

“It also helped us spread the word about our other internet initiatives, especially This Is Bradford.co.uk, which was named UK Website of the Year at last year’s BT Media Awards and which has just been nominated for a second year.”
