Newsquest Wiltshire’s Swindon Town FC website is proving to be top of the league this season.

As well as scooping the Best Niche Internet Site (Community) at Monday’s Newspaper Society New Media Awards, www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk, reached an all-time high of 405,768 page impressions during August 2003.

A new high for distinct hosts was also recorded at 15,409.

A factor in the site’s success this year is a new forum launched in April, with a more user-friendly format and lots of new functions.

Other site features include a chat room, Man of the Match, polls, wallpaper and email news alerts.

Columns come from key players Sam Parkin and Sammy Igoe, as well as Town manager Andy King and STFC reporter Jon Ritson.
