Scotsman.com attracts record traffic levels

Johnston Press has revealed The Scotsman’s website, Scotsman.com, attracted record traffic in January, with 3.8m unique users.

The figure is a year on year increase of 35 per cent and has been approved by ABCe and incorporated into the January audit.

Page impressions were up seven per cent for January, to 22.3m.

The record traffic follows a number of recent additions to the site, including a comment on a story feature, which saw more than 78,000 comments posted in January.

Michael Johnston, managing director of Johnston’s Scottish division, said: “We are now reaching more people than ever before across print and online, making the Scotsman brand one of the most successful media brands and the leading newspaper website in Scotland.

“We are generating phenomenal traffic and giving our advertisers an unrivalled online platform for Scotland.

“As a result we are seeing a particular increase in integrated print and online advertising campaigns where the reach of scotsman.com is allied to the powerful audience delivered by our strong newspaper portfolio.”

Scotsman.com includes news from The Scotsman, Edinburgh Evening News and Scotland on Sunday, and a digital archive of every edition of The Scotsman published between 1817 and 1950.

It also includes sport, business, money, motors, property, jobs, dating and a business directory. Do you have a story about the regional press? Ring 0116 227 3122/3121, or e-mail
