Scots papers snapped up by media firm

Three Scottish newspapers acquired by Johnston Press as part of its deal to buy Regional Independent Media earlier this year are being sold on.

The Galloway Gazette, Carrick Gazette and Stornoway Gazette/West Coast Advertiser are to be transferred to Scottish Radio Holdings.

The company now has 43 newspapers, comprisingMorton Newspapers,Ballymena Times,Ballymoney Times,Banbridge Leader,Carrick Times, Coleraine Times, Dromore Leader,Farm Week,Larne Times,Londonderry Sentinel,Lurgan Mail,Midulster Mail, Portadown Times, Tyrone Times, Ulster Star,Republic of Ireland,Kilkenny People, Nationalist & Munster Advertiser, Tipperary Star, Leitrim Observer, Longford Leader, Brechin Advertiser,Deeside Piper, Donside Piper, Forfar Dispatch, Inverurie Herald, Kirriemuir, Mearns Leader.

The trio – all paid-for weeklies – are being transferred as Galloway Gazette Ltd and Stornoway Gazette Ltd.
