Reporter in tune with Wimbledon

Reporter-turned-comedian Matt Chorley is hoping to serve up an ace with a song parody poking fun at Tim Henman.

As one third of sketch group Big Day Out, the former Taunton Times news editor is hoping the song will capture the mood of those fed up with the antics of Tiger Tim.

The group’s website www.bigdayout.net has already had hundreds of hits and The Henman Song is circulating round in e-mail inboxes as the unique take on The Jam’s That’s Entertainment becomes the must-hear antidote to face paint and strawberries and cream.

Matt said: “The Henman Song is not a celebration of Britishness or a heartfelt message of encouragement to Tiger Tim.

“It is born out of frustration at the also-ran performances we have come to expect from the man once hailed as the future of tennis in this country and now just as well known for advertising washing powder. New balls please…”
