Post puts readers in picture

The Bristol Evening Post has launched a new online picture service for its readers.

A new website allows readers to order pictures which have appeared in the paper.

The site will also contain images taken by Evening Post photographers that have not been used in print.

Readers will be able to search for photos by date or using key words from the picture caption.

Photosales manager John England, said: “We are sure the new site will provide a good service to Post readers.

“It means that people don’t have to come into our offices to place an order. In fact, they can view and order pictures from anywhere in the world.

“The best feature is that all images are included, not just those used in the paper. When Post photographers cover an event, they may take a dozen photos of which only one or two are used.

“A lot of people want to see the pictures which weren’t used and, up to now, we haven’t had an easy way of doing this.”

  • Other daily newspapers which currently offer photo sales through the internet include: Aberdeen Evening Express, Aberdeen Press and Journal, Derby Evening Telegraph, Glasgow Evening Times, Glasgow Herald, Hull Daily Mail, Ipswich Evening Star, Leicester Mercury, Northern Echo, North West Evening Mail, Scarborough Evening News, Scotsman, Shropshire Star and Portsmouth News.
