Porn site victory for Express

A pornographic website that could be accessed by children has been taken off the Internet after an investigation by the Evening Express, Aberdeen.

Reporter David Leask’s exclusive on the site – run from a sleepy village to advertise an adult escort agency – made the paper’s splash and led to a police investigation. One MP described the site as “an online brothel”.

The following day, the paper revealed that the site had been taken off the Internet.

Assistant editor Darren Thwaites said the outcome was “excellent”.

“Our concern was that it was easily accessible to children – it could be accessed simply by typing ‘Aberdeen’ into an Internet search engine. It was quite sexually explicit.

“We felt quite proud about getting that off the Internet. The police were aware of the site but the moment we published the story, the site was pulled.”
