Pictures of 112 people published to help rape inquiry

Police are teaming up with the Peterborough Evening Telegraph in a bid to bring forward potential witnesses to a brutal rape.

Photos of 112 people caught on CCTV camera at a Spar shop in a suburb of the town where she shopped moments before the attack are being made public.

The images show everyone who went into the shop between 6pm and 7.15pm that evening and all are being published in the Telegraph this week, as well as on the police’s own website.

Last week the first three images of people in the shop were printed in the Telegraph and within hours they had been in touch and had spoken to detectives.

Officers are appealing for anyone pictured, or anyone who knows people who went into the shop, to come forward.

The 16-year-old victim was smashed over the head and knocked unconscious, dragged into bushes and raped while walking along a dimly-lit footpath to her home.

She has been recovering from the ordeal in hospital and was captured on the shop’s camera at 6.24pm and 6.27pm.
