Panel shows people rely on the Telegraph

A survey in North Lincolnshire has given the thumbs-up to the Scunthorpe Telegraph with nine out of ten people saying they use the paper to find out about their local council.

The survey showed 86 per cent of the 1,106 people surveyed had got information about the council from the Telegraph in the past 12 months, with 47 per cent of them saying it was their main source.

Evening Telegraph Editor Michelle Lalor said: “We are delighted but not surprised with the result of this survey. The Telegraph works hard to be a local newspaper, to be at the heart of the community it serves and we would like to thank all our readers for their continued support.”

North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Panel also found that 71 per cent of members read the paper at least once a week and a further 14 per cent read the paper occasionally.
