The Newcastle Evening Chronicle has made the dreams of a North East MP come true.
It published a double-page teen magazine photo story spread that he penned more than 30 years ago.
In the early 1970s, while studying at Manchester University, Newcastle East and Wallsend MP Nick Brown made a living coming up with storylines for the popular teen magazine Jackie.
But bosses chose not to use his first storyline – and it never made it into print until the Evening Chronicle stepped in.
The paper also paid the MP the £20 he would have got from the magazine, which he donated to the paper’s charity the Sunshine Fund.
